Cartography Lecturer - Geography - Department of Geography
The Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors for a lecturer in Cartography to regularly teach courses in cartographic concepts and methods using GIS and design software (e.g. ArcGIS/QGIS and Adobe Illustrator) during the regular academic year. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), writing exams, and managing GSIs. The pool will remain in place for one calendar year; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply. Screening of applicants begins immediately and will continue as needed; Appointments will begin in the Fall 2019. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department.

Basic qualifications: The minimum qualification required to be considered as an applicant for this position is the completion of an advanced degree (for example a PhD, Masters or international equivalent degree) by the time of the application.
Salary: to be commensurate with experience. Minimum annual full time salary rate is $54,738. Appointment would be made at 50 percent time per course.
