Departmental Overview
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is launching an alumni relations enterprise responsible for creating and overseeing a comprehensive campus-wide alumni engagement strategy and plan focused on the lifelong enrichment of alumni. The newly-created Office of Alumni Relations will serve as the central department for coordination of alumni programs across the university spectrum, developing new programs and working in collaboration with the independent Cal Alumni Association (CAA), schools, colleges, departments and units, reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Development. The Executive Director will serve as the campus-wide strategist for alumni engagement launching this new program and building a team.

Required Qualifications
The Executive Director must be an exceptional communicator with outstanding management and relationship-building skills, along with the advancement, and deep alumni relations experience and talent necessary to engage a large and diverse alumni base through best practice engagement programs.
This individual will also have a solid understanding of annual giving fundraising in this area that is considered a critical element of the University's alumni engagement efforts. They must be able to build a working network of campus stakeholders and unite them in collaborative engagement efforts. Furthermore, the Executive Director will possess the maturity, perspective, and credibility necessary to work effectively with philanthropy colleagues, senior University administrators, and key alumni volunteers.
