Departmental Overview
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking an Assistant Athletics Director, Major Gifts who will work within the Cal Athletics Fund unit and will manage the Major Gifts team for the department.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting the Chief Development Officer with the design, planning, and executive of a Major Gifts program for Intercollegiate Athletics, through the management and supervision of the Major Gifts unit, including a team of up to 7 major gifts fundraisers. The success of the Major Gifts program is reliant on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift-level prospective donors capable of contributing $100,000 or more. Along with management of the Major Gifts team, this position will also have a Major Gift portfolio and be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift-level prospective donors.
The Cal Athletics Fund is the fundraising and alumni relations arm of UC Berkeley's Intercollegiate Athletics Department, Cal Athletics. This position is responsible for helping to meet the fundraising objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and ensuring that predetermined fundraising goals with regard to annual gifts are met.

This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience.
