Job Description Summary

The Digital Media Developer (DMD) works to produce and maintain digital content for the Museum’s website(s). The DMD will generate and edit webpages in our content management systems including coding HTML/CSS and the creation of images. The DMD will help develop/edit informational, promotional, and educational videos and interactive content for use on the Museum’s website and social media outlets. The DMD is responsible for helping maintain and monitor the Museum’s web style guide in conjunction with the Museum’s overall branding and art direction. The DMD performs their duties under direction of the Associate Director of Digital Media.

Job Description

Responsibilities

- Produce and maintain digital content on the Museum’s website, including text, images, and video; edit and ensure quality control as needed.

- Produce informational, promotional, and educational videos and interactive as needed.

- Assist with design, redesign, and improve Museum websites as needed.

- Assist with maintainence and monitoring of the Museum’s web style guide in conjunction with the Museum’s overall branding and art direction as necessary.

- Assist with maintaining the Museum’s video outlets (YouTube/Vimeo).

- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and the creation and manipulation of images is necessary.  A background in video production and editing in Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas Pro or Adobe Premiere is essential.  Experience in coding HTML/CSS by hand is preferred. Experience with major Content Management Systems like Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress recommended. Any web programming experience is helpful. Professional communication skills are necessary. An interest in archaeology, anthropology, and museums is helpful, as is an affinity for working in a non-profit environment. Time management, self-motivation, and multitasking are essential to the role that this position plays within the institution.
