Job Description
The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes for the Business Services Division (BSD). The position will work across cost centers and business units throughout BSD including operational performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic analysis.
The Manager will be the primary finance business partner for the Associate VP, Business Services Division and his operational directors and will provide support through financial guidance, coordination of financial transactions and controls reviews with the BSD Controller’s group, develop business-line financial reporting, and lead the budgeting and forecasting process at the business-level.
The Manager will partner with BSD operating units to understand business processes and recommend appropriate metrics and benchmarks that are appropriate to analyze performance and develop business models for operations forecasting, capital project evaluation, and investment prioritization.
A fundamental understanding of the University's RCM model and GAAP are essential in this position. The Manager of FP&A will have proficiency with University reporting tools including Hyperion, BEN, Business Objects as well as other business applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
Principal Position Duties:
- Facilitate and analyze quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting/capital plan process. Coordinate financial personnel across BSD for process planning, improvements, and the incorporation of benchmarks and critical thinking into analysis
- Primary finance business partner supporting the Associate VP of BSD and his portfolio of operations
- Oversee and manage FP&A staff to support planning and reporting processes
- Coordinate and facilitate strategic analyses, which considers resource evaluation, scenario analysis, and financing options, to support project prioritization and strategic decision-making
- Partner with BSD Controller’s organization to support financial transactions, close processes, and financial controls reviews
Qualifications: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA or MBA preferred.
