Audiology Faculty Position (Open Rank): The School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Audiology which includes responsibilities for teaching in the SDSU/University of California, San Diego Joint Audiology Doctoral Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Audiology or a related field, excellence in teaching, strong research abilities, prior clinical experience in audiology, and a commitment to working in a multi-cultural environment with students from diverse backgrounds are required. ASHA certification (CCC-AUD), and/or eligibility for state licensure are preferred. Primary responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervising AuD doctoral research projects, pursuing a research program in the area of audiology, and for qualified applicants, program administration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate would have research expertise in one or more of the following areas: aural (re)habilitation, tinnitus treatment, auditory-processing disorders, diagnosis/ treatment of hearing and balance disorders, cochlear implants, and/or pediatric audiology. In addition, the candidate should have the background needed to move into the position of Audiology Program Director over the next few years. Salary will be dependent on candidate’s qualifications and budget considerations.
