Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, exercises limited discretion and professional judgment in implementing established components for fundraising and alumni relations programs and activities; or plans, administers, and implements a well-defined or established fundraising program requiring the exercise of limited discretion and judgment.
  • Monitors and documents program activities and results.
  • Develops and maintains reports, providing basic analysis of program trends, tracks grant submissions and reporting deadlines, and monitors short and long range results.
  • Drafts informational and marketing materials for review for assigned programs.
  • Assists in detailed planning of fund development and annual solicitation programs.
  • Ensures that predetermined fundraising goals are met.
  • Assists in developing materials for specific fundraising activities and/or promotional efforts as writing, speaking, telephoning, et cetera, as needed.
  • Handles special projects/assignments involving direct interaction with alumni volunteers and donors.
  • Conducts research on alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations to identify prospects.
  • Schedules and/or coordinates HRC events.
  • May coordinate work of support staff, including but not limited to student assistants, independent contractors, or professional staff.
  • May collaborate or coordinate with the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team at Berkeley Law.
  • May assist with other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts, principles, procedures and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, et cetera.
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and with external constituencies.
  • Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Skill to maintain confidentiality.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience fundraising for non-profit organizations or in higher education.

    Salary & Benefits
    The position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience within the range of $31.00 - $32.45.
