Departmental Overview
The Long Business Library provides a high level of support to the students, faculty and staff of the Haas School of Business. In addition, the Business Library assists independent scholars and the general public, and works closely with others in the Social Sciences Division.

Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Business Librarian, the Business Information Specialist works closely with Haas faculty, locating Library-licensed content to support instruction and making course materials electronically available to students. As appropriate, assists faculty in making their publications available open access, creates online guides to help students and faculty effectively navigate complex databases and business sources, and provides reference assistance to the Business School and to the broader campus community and business community.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to identify and locate scholarly citations using library tools (catalog, discovery layer, e-journal finder, specialized databases, open web)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including faculty, faculty assistants, librarians, staff, and students.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of business information sources
  • Deep understanding of library resources and vendors
  • Experience providing reference service in an academic library
  • Experience creating resource guides using LibGuides or other platforms
  • Experience working in areas related to open access

    Salary & Benefits
    $50,100.00 - $76,300.00 annual @ 100% FTE (This is a 50% appointment)
