Human Resources Officer - Georgetown University Medical Center

The Human Resource Officer serves as the point of contact for all Medical Center staff queries and faculty appointment matters from Cancer Center Consortium members in Lombardi-NJ ( Hackensack Meridian Health) as well as multiple MedStar locations. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization. This is a deadline driven position that requires the candidate to possess the ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
  • Manage all human resources requirements for staff, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, and volunteer workers of more than 350 persons.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate accounting of salary distributions and integrity of all personnel records.
  • Manage human resource and employment matters for one or more moderately sized or moderately complex units.
  • Support the Associate Director of Administration and Director of the Cancer Center to assure the smooth run of departments.
  • Interpret human resources policies and procedures and advises units on their implementation.
  • Stay knowledgeable of employing minor workers, paid, and unpaid.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors in the use and application of salary ranges and increase guidelines, job evaluation plans, classification of new positions, changes of status, transfers, promotions, performance appraisals, salary review, and adjustments and terminations.
  • Counsel and guides managers, supervisors, and staff in resolving problems and grievances identifies training gaps and performance and develops training plans.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least five years of human resources experience required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to communicate to managers and employees in an effective manner with constant changes in GUMC processes
  • Must be able to work in both current and future deadlines simultaneously, forward thinking
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills are required

Preferred qualifications
  • Previous Workday experience
  • SHRM / PHR certification
