Stanford University is seeking a Social Science Research Professional 3 to perform work to support research or develop public programs and policies requiring a high degree of scientific knowledge. Supervise and train less experienced colleagues and provide consultation.
About the lab:
This dermatology research lab focuses on geriatric dermatology, innovations in public health, and social media research for targeted cancer prevention. Current research projects aim to address a variety of issues in dermatology, particularly those effecting vulnerable populations. These include prevention of indoor tanning bed use by high-risk groups through social media campaigns, and prevention of the overtreatment of skin cancer among elderly patients with limited life expectancy, through the development of a shared decision making tool.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate would have experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Specifically, experience working with vulnerable populations, including older adults. In addition, desired qualifications include experience with social media research, design of shared decision-making tools and public health research. Experience with NIH Grant writing would be ideal.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Graduate degree in an applicable social science related field and five years of applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.
