POSITION SUMMARY

Under the leadership of the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, the primary areas of responsibility for this position include oversight and operation of the Women’s Soccer Team including all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and managing the women's intercollegiate soccer program within the policies and philosophy of Warren Wilson College.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching

  • Assists head coach in managing and directing the women’s soccer program
  • Assist with the organization and execution of training sessions for student-athletes
  • Assist head coach with recruiting efforts for the women’s soccer program; recruiting student-athletes for the athletic team who will represent the mission of Warren Wilson College
  • Assist in operational procedures including travel
  • Assist with driving to/from away matches
  • Coordinates facility needs of visiting teams
  • Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department and always represents the College positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and general public
  • Be familiar with and adhere to departmental policies and procedures as well as USCAA and NCAA DIII regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or athletic director

Communications and Collaboration

  • Work effectively with student-athletes, staff, faculty and administrators through good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Represent the college in an appropriate and professional manner at all times
  • Assists in building relations with the WWC alumni
  • Maintain a professional appearance when representing the college
  • Establish a working and coaching presence in the athletic offices
  • Assist with game management as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Commitment to the College’s mission and the mission of the Athletic Department.
  • High School diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Collegiate coaching or playing experience preferred.
  • Goalkeeper coaching or playing experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills are required, including proficiency with databases, spreadsheets and excellent word processing ability preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks easily and ask questions.
  • Team player that shares a commitment to enhance the student experience.
  • Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion.
  • Ability to recruit, coach and teach talented student-athletes.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • An ability to communicate with and interact positively with students, faculty, staff and the broader community.
  • Demonstrating competency in helping to meet program objectives, working independently and helps to establish program priorities.
  • The ability to develop a safe, functional, and inclusive working environment.
  • A current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillator (AED) use.
  • Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one required.
