Job Summary The Loan Coordinator will be responsible for administering and coordinating financial aid loan programs under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid. Performs functions related to the technical and functional student loan and private loan programs for all students. This position will handle sensitive information in compliance with financial aid rules and regulations. This position will determine loan eligibility and communicate this information with other permissible stakeholders.

Responsibilities
    Manages the financial aid loan program which includes, Subsidized Stafford Loan, Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, Parent Plus Loan and is the liaison for private loans related to education Assists with the default management program for federal complianceAssists with reconciliation process of financial aid loans with COD and NSLDS Responsible for accurately adjusting loansMust ensure confidentiality for ensure sensitive information is handled appropriatelyElectronically pull and review error reports for resolutionPerforms a variety of duties necessary to support the delivery of financial aid to students
    Performs financial aid file review including verification and packaging of federal, state and institutional financial aidManage caseload of Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals for students who have exceeded the maximum time frame, including making decisionsRepresent the Financial Aid Office at open houses, orientation and other student oriented eventsAdvise students and/or parents on the financial aid process and provides assistance in the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Administer the planning, organization and administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans and student employmentPerform verification of income data and validation of data reported on the FAFSADetermine students’ unmet need and eligibility for the various financial aid programsDetermine all other student eligibility criteria as specified by the U.S. Department of Education’s federal regulation guidelinesProcessing and awarding all grants, loans and other types of financial aid
Required Qualifications
    A Bachelor's Degree is required from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of two years of financial aid experienceKnowledge of federal and state financial aid regulationsExperience in utilizing the BANNER Financial Aid ModuleExperience in a higher education settingExperience in financial aid with Banner, COD and NSLDSKnowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and ability to understand complex processesEffective time management and organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communications skills. Flexibility to work evenings and/ or weekendsDependable; possess excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills; detail oriented and take pride in quality of workPositive attitude and good interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality of private personal and business information
