Job Summary The Human Resources Coordinator performs general clerical and administrative duties related to the Human Resources Department at the college.

Responsibilities Responsible for sorting and filing employee information such as personal data, compensation, and benefits

Answers phones, and performs other clerical functions, as required.

Assists with conducting new employee orientations.

Reviews new employee credentials for the HR Director’s approval.

Assists with open benefits enrollment and processes new benefits information.

Provides clerical support to the Human Resources Department.

Performs well-defined clerical and recordkeeping tasks related to Human Resources functions.

Provides general support in the creation and maintenance of employee records and files.

Explains rules, policies, and procedures to staff and the public.

Responds to routine requests for forms, applications, and information.

Performs other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications High School diploma is required; an associate’s degree is preferred for this position. A minimum of two years’ experience in customer service, human resources, or a related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    REQUIRED: Ability to handle and manage confidential information.

    Strong oral and written communication skills and good listening skill. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and effective manual and computerized recordkeeping systems Ability to operate a computer, including a variety of related software.Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to independently carry out oral and written instructions.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
