Department Description

The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is one of 50 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country. The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training and outreach.

Research in the Cox Lab focuses on determining the mechanisms by which RAS oncoproteins drive cancer growth and on devising strategies to block RAS function for cancer treatment.

Position Description

This position will provide technical and scientific expertise on research projects related to these research goals. In addition to bench research, lab support and personnel training is also required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Experienced at using mammalian cell culture, site-directed mutagenesis and other genetic manipulation, and targeted inhibitors that block signaling outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with basic metabolic assays such as Seahorse and autophagy assays.
