A research assistant position is available to work on mechanical properties of brain tissue and simulants and possible links to neurological function. Duties include: preparation of gelatin/fiber simulants of brain tissue for investigation by shear waves, data archival, data analysis. Experience with Excel, Matlab, Mathematica, prior coursework in numerical methods and organic chemistry is desirable. This is a 40 hour/week position that requires approximately 20 hours per week of laboratory work at UNC. Data analysis tasks can be accomplished remotely. Initial trial period of 6 months, after which position may be extended for up to another 18 months.Education and Experience
Demonstrated possession of competencies required for the role.
