- Assist in the day-to-day administration of all Student-Athlete Development programming, including weekly emails, website updates, social media outlets and other forms of communication
- Works dually with S-A Development and the Office of Personal and Career Development (OPCD) for career coaching appointments, resume reviews, and professional development events
- Become familiar with the Handshake and CMR platforms
- Coordinator of all community impact programming, including (5) campus events, Santa’s Helper (largest Athletics service project), and individual team charity of choice
- Learn Helper-Helper application to provide guidance to student-athletes and coaches re: community service hours
- Serves as a resume reviewer in the Office of Personal and Career Development 4-days each week
(M-Th, half day) - Assist internally and operationally with the planning, logistics and execution of all SA-Dev events, such as Back to School Bash, Industry Insight Events, Etiquette Dinners, the annual Career; Development and Networking Night and the Black and Golden Globes annual awards show
- Handles the coordination of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meetings, including, room set up, meal arrangements, agendas and meeting reminders
- Responsible for helping to develop the internal relationships with coaches and student-athletes
- Performs tours of Student-Athlete Development for recruits, parents and other visitors to campus
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous work in Student-Athlete Development, Life Skills, S.A.A.C., or career coaching preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of collegiate academic and athletic structure and process
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, excel, Powerpoint, Mailchimp, and social media platforms
- Ability to work with culturally diverse students
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
- Self-starter, Ability to work with supervisors and Coaches
- Ability to follow directions and thoroughly complete tasks as assigned; ability to meet deadlines
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends
Accountabilities:
- Assists in providing work direction for student workers or volunteer interns
- Monitors student-athletes and their progress towards personal success both academically and professionally
This is a split role between the Student-Athlete Development department and the Office of Personal and Career Development. Student-Athlete career readiness and placement is top priority at WFU; therefore, this position was created to ensure our student-athletes are prepared to pursue a professional career of choice.
