Contacts sponsors for details of proposal preparation and submission process. Informs the COM Division of Research and Graduate Programs of intended submissions and collaborates with their assigned representative. Prepares and monitors forecasted budgets and other submission documents based on information from the principal investigator. Collects bio sketches and letters of support. Completes all required forms by the sponsor, University and the COM. Ensures that CTBS proposals are prepared, processed and submitted to the Division of Research and Graduate Programs according to COM and University policies and procedures and meets internal deadlines. Assures contract and sub-contract submissions are timely, managing the center’s grant related schedule and communication with FSUCOM faculty and staff. Position will be responsible for creating budget progress reports for the center.

Coordinates the CTBS post-award activities under the direction and guidance of the COM Research Accounting unit. Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities. Maintains knowledge of contractual limitations on expenditures and of relevant OMB Circulars. Collaborates with the Division's COM Research Accounting representative. Projects the financial implications of decisions and presents choices to principal investigators. Acts as backup for purchasing, travel, and reappointments. Prepares and submits documents to COM Research Accounting unit for project advances, budget amendments, contracting and subcontracting. Gathers and assembles documents for all Internal Review Board (IRB) submissions. Maintains a database to track departmental IRB deadlines and to create IRB reports. Maintains copies of all IRB documents. Responsible for creating and maintaining all research projects and publications for the Center for Translational Behavioral Science.

This position will serve as a liaison between students, faculty, staff and other departments and/or external constituencies on day to day programmatic, operational and administrative issues, including facilitating CTBS events, special projects, meetings and other duties as assigned. This position will assist the Director and the Sr. Admin Specialist with coordinating administrative, fiscal and operational activities for the CTBS. Assists with the departmental budgeting process. Compiles data and reports and provides information needed for decisions. Assists with center administrative support, to include implementing center policies and procedures, assisting with hiring and training of core staff (OPS, research assistants, etc.), research subjects and volunteers. Assists Sr. Administrative Specialist with annual reports, to include reports to granting agencies, Office of the Vice President of Research, etc. Manages, develops and creates content for the center website and SharePoint sites, provides reports on website usage and activity. Assists in the development of marketing and other CTBS related materials for internal and external publication. Assists Sr. Administrative Specialist with gathering data for faculty annual evaluations, completion of FACET reporting, faculty development records, annual reports, AOR’s, etc.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and one year of experience. (Note: higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance in a detail-oriented environment.
Experience preparing clear and concise reports and communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience with applicable computer software and operating systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience gathering, interpreting, reporting and/or editing information.
Experiencing preparing and monitoring budget information.Preferred Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience in contract administration and ability to review and interpret sponsored research grants, contracts, and other agreements.
Experience with electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
Experience with data analysis techniques and methodologies.
