Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Procurement & Contract Services. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk assists the Central Receiving Manager with daily operation of the Central Receiving and Property Control, Record Retention Center and Surplus functions at the Armstrong campus.

Essential Functions

  • Receives, inventories, processes and issues equipment, supplies and materials for the University.
  • Ships and tracks all out bound equipment (i.e., return to vendor, warranty, damages).
  • Checks, documents condition and reports shortages to buyers for resolution and follow-up with shippers and vendors on damaged material receipts including filing claims document.
  • Coordinates with buyers, vendors and shipping companies, to document and rectify discrepancies.
  • Tags, documents and captures serial numbers of inventory equipment; stages equipment for delivery according to priority of receipt.
  • Enters data information in computerized inventory system; creates receipt in computer based programs (spreadsheets and databases) to document arrival/acceptance of equipment and material on campus and process all associated documents.
  • Develops and maintains communication with departmental personnel to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of equipment and material.
  • Utilizes material handling equipment and/or hand load material on delivery vehicle.

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment

    Salary Range: $23,050 - $24,882
