Under the direction of the head women’s basketball coach, the assistant will assist in aspects of developing the basketball program and promotion of the program at Gillette College. Assist in practices, game preparation, recruiting and promotion of Gillette College basketball. Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of the team and individual student-athletes. Assist the Head Coach in instruction and analysis of student athletes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for the Position:

•Support head coach in implementing concepts and strategies.
•Maintain strong working knowledge of and ensure compliance with Region IX, NJCAA Rules and Regulations, Title IX and Clery Act Campus Safety Authority guidelines and responsibilities and all related college procedures and expectations.
•Knowledge of basic statistics, good written and verbal skills, leadership and motivational skills
•Availability to work evenings and weekends and travel
•Serve as a positive role model for the program.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

•Assist head coach in running team practices.
•Oversee drills, provide one-on-one instruction, assist player development
•Travel to various high schools or clubs to scout games, assess the skills and abilities of potential student athletes, view and assess high school/club game film.
•Assist with making travel arrangements for the team and coaching staff for games played at other institutions.
•Assist in overseeing the conditioning and weight training program

Experience

Coaching experience (high school or college), or collegiate playing experience
