Chief Program Officer, DCE Partnership Development

This position is responsible for the creation of large-scale partnerships for Digital and Continuing Education, focusing on partnerships with employers for fully online degrees, certificates, and professional development delivered online, as well as with community organizations to support program growth.  The Chief Program Officer reports to the Vice Provost for Digital and Continuing Education and works as part of a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment.  A new emphasis for the department is focusing on online micro-credentials that stack to certificates and degrees, and an experienced leader in partnership development is needed to guide partnerships for LSU DCE programming from ideation through to implementation.  This position will be responsible and accountable for securing large partnerships with statewide, regional and national businesses, listening to the needs of those businesses to recommend program creation to meet specific needs in support of our mission of economic and social mobility for Louisiana residents.   The Chief Partnership Officer will be responsible for securing high-value partnerships of $2M annually.

 

Job Responsibilities

Seek out and execute on partnerships with businesses and industry; responsible for securing large-scale partnerships that will expand the reach of online programs and professional development to thousands of employees within those companies.  The key KPI of this position is acquisition and execution of such partnerships, mainly in the fully online degrees and professional development arena, but also for community programs where appropriate.(40%)

Advise on the programmatic needs, course "size" and delivery modality, and support mechanisms necessary to advance the "brand" of LSU as a flagship, world-class institution.  Serve as project lead and project manager for partnership-related programming, ensuring that promised programs are delivered in a high-quality fashion supported by excellent customer service. (20%)

Cross-functionally support team development, operational excellence, continuing the growth of current programs, and providing leadership to evolving what continuing education "is" at the institution.  Support professional development of the team in sales and partnership development.(20%)

Serve as a member of the leadership team within DCE in a cross-functional nature, managing a budget to stay fiscally healthy within a self-supporting unit of the University, advise on programmatic direction, customer service focus areas, and act as community evangelist as necessary to support the expansion of continuing education programming and the number of students served by DCE. (20%)

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience: 12+ years

Additional Details: -Demonstrated experience securing large, high-value partnerships from a sales or relationship-based perspective.

-Demonstrated previous experience initiating and seeing to fruition multi-million dollar partnerships from the revenue-generating side (not expenditure side)
-Experience initiating, advancing, and executing business partnerships as the primary person driving the relationship
-Demonstrated ability to discern industry needs, listen closely to internal and external stakeholders
-Sales experience
-Project management experience
-Experience working with CRM systems and tracking sales relationships

 

Preferred Qualifications

Years of Experience: 15+ years of experience

Additional Details: -Experience establishing and fostering long-term contracts to deliver services to partners, continually support them and demonstrate long-term value
-High-value account management experience
-Experience with national sales or partnership-development with Fortune 1000 companies
