General Description / Primary Purpose

The Coordinator Student Financial Services, under the direction of the Student Financial Services (SFS) Manager or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.

Essential Duties

Job Function

This position will process Third Party Billing in compliance with external agency and University Guidelines. This position will reconcile the contracts within the ERP system. This position will regularly check the BAI and post payments received from Third Parties to the appropriate account. This position will monitor and reconcile the student AR accounts. This position will research student inquires and issues and respond accordingly, verbally or written. This position will work with ITS, the Bursar, General Accounting, and Enrollment Services on the automation of Third Party Billing. This position will be responsible to review, reconcile, refund and report on all GI Bill students in accordance with the President’s Executive Order. This position will serve as a cashier. This position may present at orientation. This position will assist with the development and delivery of financial literacy data to our students. This position will assist with the documentation of Controller’s Office/SFS procedures. This position will be a leader as a customer service liaison for the Controller’s Office/SFS with parents, students, and Third Party Agencies This position will perform other duties as assigned within Controller’s Office/SFS.

This position will serve as backup to other positions within Student Financial Services.

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Faculty Position Required QualificationsDepartmental Requirements

Preference shown to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following:
High computer literacy to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel Comfortable with telephone, copier, calculator, fax, and scanner Experience with Higher Ed ERP system and Student Financial Services preferred. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. This position requires the ability to maintain pleasant disposition and positive attitude at all times. This position requires the ability of good judgment, a self-motivated team player, and a flexible person who understand balancing customer service to our students with the need for compliance while maintaining effective working relations with external agencies and Enrollment Services. This position requires the ability of mathematical and analytical skills necessary to reconcile and balance. This position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with students, the University community and external contacts.
