The Support Professional is a member of the Student Life and Conduct team.  The office serves the college and students in several ways, including front desk services/sales (RaiderCards, bus passes, movie tickets, etc.), coordinating all major student events and student clubs/organizations on campus, oversight of the food pantry and dining services, and enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct and Behavioral Intervention Team.  The Support Professional holds key responsibilities in oversight of our financial records and daily club/organization management.   

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate, process, and monitor 10 Student Life and RaiderCard budgets (accounts payable and receivable) on a computerized accounting system (PeopleSoft)
  • Responsible for generating and maintaining 35-40 student organization accounts, including processing of all purchase orders, journal entries, budget transfers, check requests, deposits, reimbursements, account reconciliation and generating reports as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and prepare financial documentation for end-of-year and auditing purposes
  • Responsible for Student Life sales deposits, cash outs, and point of sale and inventory reconciliations
  • Assist and support Student Alliance in the annual allocations and ongoing reserve funding processes for the monies collected by the Student Activities fee
  • Responsible for daily administration of student club and organization support needs, including, but not limited to:
  • Serve as first point of contact for inquiries about starting a new GRCC student club/organization
  • Responsible for processing all event registration forms, permission to raise funds, popcorn machine rental, RaiderCard readers, cash box requests, amplified sound requests, and travel and van rental request forms
  • Manage Student Life and student organization event and meeting registration, scheduling and logistic coordination including, but not limited to, room reservations, food requests, payment requests, and equipment, technology and media requirements
  • Responsible for managing the campus student events calendar, and provide regular updates to various campus departments (such as Campus Police, Communications Department, President and Trustee Officers, Operations, etc.) as needed
  • Manage Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) membership process; entering into PTK website and send communication to GRCC Student Records Office
  • Manage the campus posting system and related policies
  • Manage the development and production of the GRCC Stall Street Journal
  • Responsible for processing student conduct background checks upon request, scheduling student conduct appointments, and assisting with conduct related paperwork as needed
  • Responsible for the intake processing and documentation of school release requests
  • Assist with Student Life counter services including duties related to opening and closing the office
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of College departments and services available for students, staff, faculty and the community
  • Other duties as assigned

Marginal (Non-Essential) Job Functions

  • Provide back up to Service and Technology Coordinator for front desk management and supervision
  • Provide general support to all Student Life office functions and events
  • Present a positive and professional image, utilizing the GRCC Service Excellence guidelines, to the students, visitors, department and college
  • Participate as a member or leader on teams or committees as requested or as mutually agreed upon
  • Assist in event coordination support as needed
