Job Summary/Description

The History Department at Angelo State University invites applications for a one year visiting assistant professor appointment in United States history for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 academic year. Subfield is open, but candidates with an ability to teach Texas history are especially encouraged to apply. Course load will be four courses each semester, including both halves of the U.S. History survey and an optional course in Texas history for Spring, 2020. Applicant should be ABD or preferably have a PhD in history or related field at the time of employment.

The successful candidate is expected to be devoted to quality teaching with clear, high standards and to be an active member of Angelo State’s academic community. There are no expectations for university service or research, however.

Angelo State University is part of the Texas Tech University system. It is a federally designated Hispanic Servicing Institution. We are located in the heart of West Texas in the town of San Angelo.
