The UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) is among the best and most established U.S. colleges of agriculture. In its classrooms, its Agricultural Experiment Stations and its statewide network of UGA Cooperative Extension offices, the faculty and staff of CAES are dedicated to discovering, teaching, and delivering the science required for healthy living to flourish in Georgia. Agricultural and environmental sciences are only as important as the food you eat, the clothes you wear and the water and air around you. To improve the quality and guard the safety of life’s necessities, CAES has gathered world-renowned scientists and exceptional students. Preferred Qualifications

PhD or equivalent degree in an agricultural, business, or related discipline.
A Master’s degree in an agricultural, business, or related discipline with directly applicable experience would also be considered.

Position Summary

This position develops project based learning opportunities within the UGA Innovation District with varied industry partners to cultivate the knowledge and technology needed to improve productivity, profitability and sustainability of industries in agriculture. Works collaboratively with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Research, and the Office of Extension and Outreach, and The Office of Development and Alumni Relations to support, develop, and implement a plan to identify research and educational opportunities and enhance student and employer engagement opportunities. The position develops problem-based learning modules/courses within the Innovation District in collaboration with other UGA Colleges and Schools. Develops effective assessment documentation regarding program productivity and impact.

1. Proven track record of partnering with corporate entities.
2. Proven ability to network with diverse audiences and develop plans, programs, and agreement to achieve mutual goals. Experience working with faculty and ability to convene faculty teams to develop big multi-disciplinary ideas and articulate the value of new programs to the private sector.
3. Ability to conceive, develop, organize and conduct programs.
4. Excellence in project management.
5. Ability to collect and analyze data including student, employment, and organizational information. Ability to prepare understandable and compelling reports using tables, charts, and narratives to translate data in recommendations and actions; monitor and analyze data to show program results. Able to integrate and effectively relay information to varied stakeholders, colleagues, and administrators.
6. Ability to utilize various software to effectively accomplish job responsibilities including Microsoft Suite, career management software (Handshake), databases, website management and research, social media.
7. Comfortable working with student populations and alumni, advising and teaching appropriate work related behaviors as necessary. Ability to learn and utilize diversity and student life issues, national/regional trends, and effective career preparedness and communications program.
8. Ability to remember and utilize a large amount of data, close attention to detail, comparing data and information, and ability to draw appropriate conclusions.
9. Ability to verbally interact with a variety of individuals including faculty, staff, and management.
10. Ability to organize information in logical manner.

1.Oversees the development and implementation of a strategic plan for industry outreach to build and enhance research projects, educational opportunities, and internships based in the UGA Innovation District. Creates new and durable collaborative models with corporate partners. Provides an increasing number of diverse employment and internship opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate students.
2.Coordinates multi-disciplinary opportunities/proposals across colleges/Institutes, liaises and coordinates the efforts of multiple CAES Departments to develop and foster research, training and extension partnerships, joint projects and problem-based learning.
3.Works closely with companies of all sizes and types ranging from large multi-national corporations to small businesses to develop applied research projects for CAES students and faculty. Facilitates visits from external organizations that are existing or potential partners.
4.Promotes CAES and the University’s capabilities, coordinates faculty interactions with companies. Supports an increase in the number and value of industry research contracts and promotes economic development in the State of Georgia.
5.Develops University-industry research agreements capitalizing on the resources available in the Innovation District. May assist in the development of technology/research transfer licensing agreements.
6.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a wide range of campus stakeholders and units (College leadership, UGA and CAES alumni association, UGA and CAES development, academic departments, centers, etc.) to advance the agenda of connecting students to research, intern/employment and career opportunities.
7.Manages and/or participates in campus student recruiting programs, career fairs and “Meet Up” events, working closely with department teams to grow numbers of employers participating.
8.Effectively utilizes job market trends and industry information on an ongoing basis to identify target employer organizations across key industry areas and employer organizations to create a network of advocates for hiring UGA CAES applicants/students.
9.Serves as point of contact for College website content working with CAES Office of Communications and Creative Services, other College staff, or other units/groups to develop communications strategies for employers and students as needed.
10.Coordinates with CAES Development and Alumni Relations office regarding corporate partnering and new funding opportunities.
11.Regular travel throughout the State of Georgia.

2.Develops learning outcomes of each project and effectively manages teams of students, faculty and industry partners to evaluate, solve, and report findings /solution.
3.Provides an appropriate learning environment to encourage self-directed learning, critical thinking and analysis, and application of University course content to the problem.
4.Teaches a minimum of one undergraduate course within CAES per semester.

1.Creates narrative reports for senior leadership and advisory boards to articulate impact, growth of programs, and developing opportunities.
2.Leads assessment efforts, data compilation and analysis to identify and report job market trends, outreach outcomes, impact on student opportunities for internships and full-time employment, and net increase in employer relationships across industry
3.Attends related CAES Office of Development and Alumni Relations team meetings, CAES Office of Academic Affairs, Research, or Extension leadership meetings, and selected advancement trainings. Works collaboratively with CAES faculty and staff of academic departments and programs, career service colleagues, and other UGA offices as needed to benefit CAES.
4.Complies with all UGA/USG policies concerning student contact and conduct and financial management.
5.Performs other duties within the purpose and scope of the role. Occasional overnight and/or weekend work.
