UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant provide research, education, training and science-based outreach to assist Georgia in solving problems and realizing opportunities for its coastal and marine environments. By advancing research, education and training, and outreach, UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant promote the economic, cultural and environmental health of Georgia’s coast and prepare citizens to become good stewards of coastal ecosystems and watershed resources.

Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant seek a reporting and evaluation coordinator who will support the leadership team in overall reporting; and designing and implementing evaluation initiatives to best serve the organization. Responsibilities include assisting with preparation of progress and annual reports, coordinating and assisting in evaluation planning, survey design, data acquisition, data entry, data processing, data archiving and literature reviews as needed. Broadly, the position will inform program decision-making with data-driven, evidence-based information. The position will also help the leadership team understand the effectiveness of various programs. The position will work closely with the communications team to communicate the impact of various research, extension and education programs. This a full time, benefits eligible, staff position assigned to the Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant’s headquarters in Athens.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience conducting program evaluation, including knowledge of relevant design models, logic modeling, project management and evaluation/research methodologies. Experience working with large complex data sets. Experience using SPSS, STATA, or other data analytic software. Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel. Experience using web-based survey tools (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc). Ability to successfully collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups/staff.

Physical Demands

Position is based in Athens with travel to other locations as needed. Local and regional in-state travel may be required. Some work may be required in coastal environment.
