Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Visiting Professor in the College of Education. Beginning the 2019-2020 academic year this position will work in the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Program and in the Department of Teacher Education’s undergraduate programs. This full-time, temporary position will begin on August 1, 2019. Based on the applicant’s graduate study areas, responsibilities will include teaching inter- disciplinary studies and teacher education courses at the undergraduate level, supervising field experiences, recruiting and mentoring interdisciplinary and education students, and providing service to the College of Education in the development of an elementary education program. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; competitive benefits program.Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree in education or a closely related field with coursework at the graduate level focused on education, Elementary Education or Reading or a related field that would qualify the applicant to teach in the programs listed. The applicant should have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in a public or private K-12 setting with proficiency using technology in instruction and assessment. Background and/or credit check may be required.Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctorate in an education and/or earned teaching certifications with evidence of a successful college and/or university level teaching, experience teaching in an online learning systemSpecial Information to Applicants
