SCAD seeks an ISSO adviser to help students in-person, over the phone and via email with their immigration status as it pertains to their studies and to the time after they leave the university. In this role, you will help manage orientations, programs, workshops and cross-campus collaboration to help students acclimate to American culture and norms.

You will keep abreast of changes in laws, rules, regulations and administrative procedures concerning international students studying in the U.S. while serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) with respect to reporting requirements to the United States Citizen and Immigration Service. You will also manage FSA Atlas alerts and oversee the batch processing registration of F-1 student files to the USCIS Student and Exchange Visitor Program database.

The ideal candidate has excellent written and oral communication skills, experience in international student services and works effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Meeting internal and external deadlines with accuracy is essential. The ability to speak more than one language is preferred.

Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred.
•U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency as mandated by federal regulations
•Minimum one-year experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) or comparable international education knowledge
•Knowledge of F-1 student visa regulations and experience designing and implementing events and workshops
