POSITION TITLE:SIMULATION TECHNICIAN
STATUS:Part-time (9-month position)
DIVISION:Nursing, Health, and Public Services
REPORTS TO:Department Chair
PLACEMENT: Grade 7
MINIMUM PAY RATE: $20.41 per hour

The Simulation Technician is primarily responsible for integrating, maintaining and operating the computer and audio/video (A/V) technology including the simulation mannequins and surrounding lab equipment. The Simulation Technician is responsible for simulation room set-up and take down, application of moulage, operation of mannequins during simulation, and recording/playback of simulations. The position works closely with the Simulation Coordinator and the Nursing Lab staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Operates simulation mannequins during simulation sessions.
2.Programs mannequins to model physiological responses to instructor specifications.
3.Supports/assists in role-playing applications, props placement, and moulage setup before and after simulations to create a virtual healthcare setting.
4.Captures, stores and runs reports from simulation recordings.
5.Performs basic preventive maintenance and upgrades of simulation programs and equipment.
6.Collaborates with vendors for installation and troubleshooting of various simulation technologies.
7.Maintains and troubleshoots simulation equipment, audio/visual equipment, and simulation lab technologies.
8.Performs inventory, orders, and stocks consumable supplies. Keeps storeroom and simulation space organized and orderly.
9.Collaborates in the repair of simulation equipment.
10.Attends meetings or continuing education to maintain currency with simulation technology and use.
11.Provides recommendations for purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials related to simulation.
12.Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment and software.
13.Assists with training staff and faculty in the use of simulation equipment.
14.Collaborates and serves as a resource for faculty in the use of simulation.
15.Assists with data entry for various recordkeeping.
16.Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
1.Associate’s degree in information technology and/or health-related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
2.Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
3.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to think logically and follow directions.
4.Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education.
5.The ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
1.Knowledge of computer operations and networking.
2.Knowledge of the basics of high fidelity mannequin functions.
3.Knowledge of the features and capabilities of basic multimedia equipment.

The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.
