One-Year Temporary Assistant Professor in Script Writing for Film/TV

Teach a range courses in script writing for film and television. Course assignments may include Film Story Analysis, Introductory, Intermediate or Advanced Screenwriting, and other courses as appropriate. Conduct office hours and advise and mentor students. Participate in area, School, and College meetings. Provide School and University service as appropriate, including helping create student opportunities with the professional film and television world, participate in film thesis critique sessions and in the overall curricular and co-curricular life of the School. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assist with a range of educational opportunities with the School, including speakers, screenings, and various productions.

Qualifications & Requirements

M.F.A./M.A. degree in film or related discipline preferred. Previous experience of successful college-level teaching in film/television script writing is a requirement. Professional experience in film/TV scriptwriting and record of professional accomplishments essential. Understanding of contemporary filmmaking and script writing trends and practices necessary as well as ability to connect the evolution of entertainment media consumption and the ongoing convergence of film, television, and digital platforms. Ability to work collaboratively to build and grow a dynamic and innovative program necessary.
