Position Title:Diplomat for Diversity - Institutional Student Worker (Fall 2019) Campus Location:Gainesville Job Close Date:08/19/2019 General Summary:

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Diplomat for Diversity at the Gainesville campus. Diplomats for Diversity are the current University of North Georgia students who engage their peers in dialogue around issues related to social justice and diversity. Students are chosen based on their commitment to social justice, the diverse perspective they bring to the group, and their desire to serve the campus community.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The student will:

  • Undergo training related to dialogue
  • Facilitate skills and promote social justice and diversity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Understand and support the purpose of the University of North Georgia, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, and Diplomats for Diversity.
  • Be available to attend all training sessions and orientation sessions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
  • Junior (or above) at the University of North Georgia at the time of application strongly preferred
  • Good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, is required.
  • Good conduct standing with no outstanding conduct sanctions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of team members, students, community members, and UNG faculty and staff.?
