The Administrative Assistant provides advanced administrative and technical support for the VP of Student Life and Dean of Students and three Associate Deans of Student Life. Manage student information in student information software systems (i.e. Banner, Slate, Maxient). Assist with student contacts and record maintenance. Maintains web sites with current information, calendar, and other information. Provide administrative support to Faculty Committee on Standards and Standings. Serve on committees that support Student Life. Serve as the office manager for Student Life and review Top Desk tickets for Student Life. Coordinate the editing of various hardcopy and web-based publications. Establishes and maintains an organized filing, record keeping, and office supply system for the vice president and others as assigned. Participates in shared departmental telephone coverage. Assist in planning for and execution of meetings and events. Assist with processing travel and expense reports, check requests and invoices for the department.A minimum of three years professional office administration experience required; proficiency with Microsoft Office required; proficiency with database maintenance and reporting highly preferred. Experience with Banner is preferred. Experience in a college setting, especially in an administrative office is preferred. Ability to work effectively with students and their families, faculty, and staff. Must exhibit professionalism and diplomacy in working effectively with diverse constituencies. Demonstrated ability to organize numerous projects requiring attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines. Strong organizational and technology skills required.
