BUSINESS ANALYST, ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS

 

Florida’s only public university exclusively teaching science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) is looking for exceptional candidates to serve as the Business Analyst in the Enterprise Systems Department.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Business Analyst is responsible for the Workday application business-system support, data security relating to role-based security, administration and configuration support in the new ERP environment.   This position reports to the Associate Director, Enterprise Systems. The Business Analyst understands the customer’s business requirements and business process management, and interacts with staff in IT Services, human resources, procurement, payroll, grants, campus development, finance and accounting, auxiliary operations and some student support areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to provide production support for the Human Capital Management (HCM) functional areas within Workday including Benefits, Absence Management, Compensation as well as any related products.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic business process issues involving HR (HCM), finance, payroll, grants, business assets, procurement, and student support services. Ensure that these business processes comply with state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions to complex problems using Workday. Including the elicitation of business requirements.
  • Support the design and execution of the test scripts and test scenarios to include functional and regression testing for requested enhancements/changes as well as new feature releases.
  • Prepare and execute effective communications with internal and external clients.
  • Identify Workday usage problems, and communicate the matter to Workday, the Functional Team or the IT Team as appropriate. Monitor the situation until the solution(s) designed truly meet the needs and expectations of users.
  • Document requirements and workflows pertaining to both internal and external organizational processes.
  • Facilitate working sessions for testing, validating, evaluating new applications and functions as well as determining issues related to services and software.
  • Work with users to document requested changes and assist with the submission of change management requests
  • Support Associate Director in the planning, implementation, and documentation of all new releases, applications and upgrades.
  • Coordinate various meetings including Workday Steering Committee as well as Workday Operations Team.
  • Produce reports using the appropriate business objects and create calculated fields as required.
  • Create Job Aids (training/how to materials) for department as well as end users.
  • Assist with review and correction of system errors and warnings from various areas of the Workday system including security, reporting and functional access.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have solid business analysis skill with documented relevant business and technical experience.
  • Must be comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes-ambiguous work situations.
  • Experience documenting and analyzing processes, procedures, and/or policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Computer Science, or any related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of experience with technical implementations of ERP projects.
  • Good understanding of business process design and architecture, user administration, general data networking, general data structures, scripting, and security configuration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Workday or similar cloud-based ERP system.
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:       This position is salary exempt.  The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.

TARGET HIRING SALARY:  $62,315 - $70,000, commensurate with experience.
