Compensation: Hourly Rate of $10.00 Temporary (Outsourced). Limited to no more than 25 hours per week.

Description:

The International Center is seeking a highly organized candidate to fill an Office Assistant position. This position will provide general office for the staff in the International Center, and will interact and assist students, faculty, and other visitors to the International Center, and collaborate with the entire office to provide service excellence for students and professionals across campus.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Provide a welcoming environment for International Center guests, especially students in a manner consistent with the Division of Student Affairs’ standard for “Service Excellence”.
  • Provide coverage for the front desk including answering phones and checking in students.
  • Schedule student appointments with International Center staff as appropriate.
  • Clean the public spaces and conference room within the International Center.
  • Prepare for meetings and events within the International Center as requested by staff.
  • Report on analytics related to International Center visitor logs.
  • Assist with coordination of work study students assigned to the International Center.
  • Track the availability and need for general office supplies, including printer supplies, for the International Center.
  • Run errands across campus to deliver documents and materials when needed.
  • Support select International Center events.
  • ?Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Reports to: Admissions Specialist, International Student Services

Qualifications:

Required: HS diploma/GED plus two years of related work experience, or a combination of education and related work experience equal to two years, is required. Applicant must be able to sit at a desk for several hours at a time, walk across campus to pick up and/or deliver materials, and lift up to 25 Ibs. with or without accommodations. A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred: Foreign language competencies and intercultural communication skills.

  • Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job.
  • Customer Service – ability to respond promptly and courteously to all questions from students and faculty, demonstrating patience and persistence when helping students with little or no computer skills.
  • Independent work - able to work independently with limited supervision and able to self-motivate.
  • Organization & Time Management – able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks related to the job to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.
  • Systems & Software - proficient level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs.
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal – highly motivated team player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
