Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Health Science or Biology field.  Experience in animal handling, tissue collection and molecular biology techniques.  Excellent computer skills (MS Word). 


Preferred Qualifications: 

One (1) or more years of experience in animal handling, tissue collection and molecular biology techniques preferred.  Experience in large data set management, rodent models and tissue collection.   Experience in animal models of cancer.


Brief Description of Duties:

The Research Support Specialist will be responsible for the following duties and will be expected to assist undergrad students, post doc's and other investigators with relevant techniques.  The applicant will be expected to work well as a team member and independently. The successful incumbent should have excellent organizational skills.

  • With minimal supervision perform experiments relating to dietary manipulations in animal models of cancer. 
  • Investigate the role of diet and sphingolipid metabolism in animal models of cancer and provide weekly lab reports  to the supervisor, PI.
  • Preparation and presentation of manuscripts relative to assigned work.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
