The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering is seeking a qualified adjunct to teach its Statics Course (EGR250) for the Fall 2019 semester. This course covers the basics of static analysis, including equilibrium and free-body diagrams, and then covers material dealing with stress analysis, deflection, and basic design (simple frames, trusses, and beams). This course is team-taught, so the successful candidate will need to work with instructors from the other course sections to cover similar material, design common examinations and homework assignments, and maintain pacing among the several course sections. Robot Structural Analysis (part of the AutoCAD suite) software is used to help illustrate force and stress analysis topics.
A successful candidate will have a Master of Science degree or higher in a related engineering field (e.g. civil, mechanical, materials) as well as either teaching experience, industrial experience, or both.
