As part of the Center for Design & Instruction, a Campus-Based Instructional Design Coordinator will help implement the strategic enhancement of campus-based credit course programming to best meet the goals of the campus and the College. He/she will coordinate with the Assistant Director, Center for Design & Instruction to promote a culture that emphasizes best practices in instructional design and the effective use of technology for teaching and learning for exceptional on-site, blended, and on-line courses.

This position will report to the Harrisburg Campus.

Essential Job Functions

Plans, coordinates, schedules, and delivers campus & college-wide training

Consults with faculty on technology-related classroom instruction

Communicates via, phone, email, and in person to provide troubleshooting and support

Maintains training records/database

Job Specific Task List

Training: 60%

1. Assist faculty 1:1 as needed with questions related to the LMS, instructional design, academic technologies, and accessibility issues.

2. Work with identified faculty needing remediation on instructional re-design projects, providing design guidance and recommendations.

3. Develop, prepare, maintain, and revise training materials used in conjunction with faculty workshops on best practices in instructional design, academic technologies, and accessibility issues.

4. Conduct faculty workshops on best practices in instructional design, academic technologies, and accessibility issues.

5. Teach eAcademy and blended Training as needed.

Communication—25%

6. Communicate with campus CITE coordinator, academic deans, the Assistant Director, Center for Design & Instruction, and other campus contacts to establish current & future instructional technology training needs.

7. Attend meetings of campus leadership.

8. Attend meetings of the assigned-campus CITE committee.

9. Attend meetings of the Center for Design & Instruction.

Strategic Planning—15%

10. Research and investigate new and upcoming educational technologies, techniques, and strategies as information is announced and published. Attend relevant professional development relating to educational technology and products.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing RequirementsPhysical Requirements

Positions in this class typically require: grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Qualifications: Preferred Experience

-Knowledge of online course development.
-Knowledge of blended/hybrid course development.
-Demonstrated familiarity of universal design for learning (UDL) approaches to instructional design.
