Position Description:
As a member of the Application Services team, the Application Developer designs, develops, tests, and integrates moderate to complex software solutions focusing primarily on Business and Faculty applications. The Application Developer collaborates with team members to conduct thorough analysis of customer requirements, develop detailed design specifications and develops reliable application code to deliver application solutions to customers across the enterprise. The incumbent prepares technical documentation, provides ongoing support, participates in full life-cycle development activities including moderately complex technical design, programming, unit and integration testing.
Additional responsibilities include conducting research of emerging technologies and industry practices; makes recommendations regarding best practices and technologies for adoption, and provides input to continual improvement activities for assigned project or team. Partners with stakeholders, business analysts and subject matter experts to develop business and functional requirements and propose application solutions. Perform targeted user research to analyze customer requirements and engineer appropriate solutions that fit the problem. Validate new features and concepts with users using various means from conceptual prototypes and focus groups to analyzing actual product usage patterns. Provides after-hours support as needed or assigned.
