Senior Gift Processor - Office of Advancement

The Senior Gift Processor has primarily responsibility for the prompt and accurate processing of all gifts to the University, facilitating receipts, and reporting procedures. S/he applies the principles of gift processing, serves as a liaison with campus departments, and consistently demonstrates an understanding of the principles of processing complex gifts. Reporting to the Gift Processing Manager, the Senior Gift Processor has duties that include but are not limited to:

GU360/AQ (CRM) Recording
  • Processes batches, as assigned for recording gifts into AQ.
  • Accurately calculates and applies any quid pro quo or other amount that may reduce the tax deductibility of a gift.
  • Assists Manager and Director with ensuring department meets monthly close deadlines and other financial deadlines.
  • Checks own work to ensure recording is accurate and timely
  • Peer-reviews the work of others to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Records Manual Gifts, Gifts-In-Kind, and other non-cash gifts.
  • Ensures all In Memory Of and In Honor Gifts are recorded accurately and timely
  • Records expectancies, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and other planned giving instruments.

Administration
  • Assists Manager with recording corrections, wires, complex major gifts , journal entries, and ACH transactions.
  • Serves as liaison with Records Team in the creation and editing of constituents records that may hinder the continuous processing of gifts.
  • Assists Manager and Director with responding to incoming external request through general e-mail boxes.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Technology and/or 5 years of professional-level related experience, preferably with a University or nonprofit organization
  • Experience with processing funds to restricted and unrestricted accounts
  • Ability to maintain a standard of accuracy and efficiency, and a significant level of confidentiality due to the sensitive donor/constituent client information relative to gift processing.
  • Thorough and complete knowledge of all aspects of gift and pledge processing, acknowledgments, and gift publicity procedures
  • High detail orientation with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to take responsibility, and to work well both independently and as a team member
  • Ability to understand and follow directions as well as complex policies and procedures
  • Capacity to make sound decisions, exercise good judgment, and to interact effectively with a diverse constituency using strong communication skills
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of standards related to gift administration, such as CASE Standards, FASB Accounting rules, and IRS guidelines
  • Solid background in Google email/calendar/documents and Microsoft Excel
  • Preference for experience with Salesforce or CRM Systems
