Located at the intersection of business, government, and international relations, Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) develops principled leaders committed to serving both business and society. The Marketing and Events Coordinator, is responsible for various activities that directly serve prospective students to enhance the quality of their experience with the MBA Program Admissions Office. The primary responsibilities of this person are to provide marketing and event execution and administrative support for the MBA Admissions Office. This person assists with the coordination of the interview process, on- and off-campus event planning and execution, administrative support for the development of marketing materials and special projects as needed. Reporting directly to the Director of MBA Admissions, the Marketing and Events Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:

EVENT PLANNING, SCHEDULING AND FOLLOW UP SUPPORT
  • Assist with on- and off-campus event planning and execution.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of each event, including summarizing each event.
  • Manage all events within event/marketing automation tools under the direction of the Associate Director of Marketing Automation.
  • Maintain event registration and communication plan in event system.
  • Book rooms and equipment through various campus offices for events.
  • Manage all event related lists including registration and post event attendance in event/marketing automation tools; coordinate with MBA Admissions Manager to ensure accuracy and data integrity of information.
  • Manage event and walk-in surveys.
  • Purchase branded items as needed.
  • Manage strategy, planning and execution of virtual and yield events.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND MARKETING SUPPORT
  • Manage social media strategy for events, blog, and other program promotion.
  • Post content and act as liaison with central marketing communications team.
  • Update MBA Admissions event web pages.
  • Manage admissions blog - identifies and liaises with students, staff and alumni to write stories.
  • Manage the customer service experience including the Admissions Advisor on Call (AAOC process) and candidate walk-in form.
  • Coordinate shipping of marketing materials to off-campus event locations.
  • Provide administrative support for the development of marketing materials.
  • Assist marketing team with marketing communication efforts and special marketing operations projects.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM SUPPORT
  • Have a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures and mission of the MBA Admissions office and apply it to daily activities. Must be able to clearly articulate verbally and in written form.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the programs, resources and events of the MBA program and Georgetown University. Must be able to clearly articulate verbally and in written form.
  • Provide accurate information when needed by prospective students regarding admissions activities of the school and/or University programs, resources and events.
  • Serve as back-up manager for Georgetown MBA email account.
  • Secondary coverage for front office and for answering telephone calls.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required or an Associate' s degree with experience in a related field
  • 1-2 years in higher education administration or university setting preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office soft ware
  • Must be able to work in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office soft ware
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required
