Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training at the University of South Carolina seeking applications for a full-time (9-month) Clinical Assistant Professor in physical education pedagogy to begin August 2019.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to manage a 4/4 teaching load or the equivalent that may include: (1) teaching physical education and/or adapted physical education instruction and curriculum courses at the undergraduate and master’s level; (2) supervising students in practicum classes and in student teaching; (3) assisting with the coordination of undergraduate and graduate activities outside the classroom and (4) demonstrating a commitment to outstanding teaching.

Required Education and Experience

Candidates must have (1) an earned doctorate, (2) evidence of previous college level teaching, and (3) an ability to work cooperatively with colleagues. Preference will be given to applicants who possess (1) K-12 and teaching experience; (2) expertise in adapted physical education; and (3) expertise in alternative course delivery, teaching with technology, and/or distributed learning formats.
