The Executive Director of Contact Strategy and Management steers the lead generation, lead nurture, prospect management, and brand building efforts to drive interest in and student applications to Kenan-Flagler’s academic programs.

This position is within the school’s Marketing/Communications (MarCom) group. Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Marketing/Communications is responsible for the strategic management of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School’s marketing, public relations, communications and reputation management activities. The department provides leadership, counsel and services to academic programs (Undergraduate Business, Master of Accounting, five MBA programs, PhD), non-degree Executive Development programs, Advancement (fundraising, alumni relations, corporate relations), Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, and School centers. It works to ensure a unified School-wide marketing and communications strategy. Areas within UNC Kenan-Flagler Marketing/Communications include School-wide strategic communications, marketing/student recruitment, advertising, media relations, content development and distribution, social media, marketing communications, video and photography, website, graphic design and issues management.

Reporting to the school’s Chief Marketing Officer, the Executive Director leads a team of data-minded experts responsible for building, tracking, and optimizing processes and initiatives that increase awareness, traffic, consideration, and engagement with content delivered through numerous distribution platforms, including the school’s programmatic and search engine advertising, external-facing website, and presence in key social media channels. She/he will support efforts that enhance the sophistication of the school’s prospect management processes through the use of interconnected automation technologies, CRM systems, and first- and third-party data engines. The Executive Director will work with managing directors and admissions leaders from the program to develop enrollment forecasts, budget proposals, targeting strategies, data collection and measurement protocols, and analyses of competitor activity and market trends.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree (preferred). All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

10 years of direct experience and proven success in roles focusing on lead generation, lead nurture, and/or prospect management, including work with data collection and analysis tools; marketing automation, content management, and CRM systems; and programmatic and search engine advertising.

Experience developing and optimizing processes that measure digital engagement, shape budget and enrollment forecasts, track competitor and market activity, and evaluate content/creative effectiveness.

People management, professional development, and team leadership skills and experience.

Excellent communication skills and experience working with senior leaders, external vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Critical success drivers: high degree of customer service orientation, ability to remain productive in a multi-priority environment, strong sense of urgency, outstanding project management skills, and a strategic/analytic mindset.
