Job Details
Primaryresponsibilities include: Maintaining collaborations with addiction treatmentfacilities (at the Veteran’s Administration), assist with recruiting and schedulingsubstance-use disordered and healthy control research participants, collectinghuman neuroimaging data (including MRI scanner operation, semi-structuredclinical interviewing, neurocognitive testing, and other behavioral datacollection), data processing and analysis, preparing reports for funding andregulatory agencies, supporting preparation and submission of publications,training undergraduate research assistants, coordinating the activities of ourpolicy network (i.e., the Stanford Network on Addiction Policy (SNAP)),coordinating interdisciplinary meetings and conferences, and maintaining groupemails and websites. This unique position is ideal for recent graduatesinterested in gaining experience at the intersection of research and policy to advanceto a research career.

Core Duties:
Education and Experience Required:
Two yearcollege degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combinationof experience, education, and training.
- Bachelor'sdegree in cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, computer science, or arelated field.
- Basicunderstanding of research design and analysis (e.g., from Introduction toPsychology)
- Fundamentalstatistical knowledge about how to analyze data (e.g., from Introduction toStatistics).
- Strong interpersonal skills for working withhuman study participants.
- Abilityand motivation to complete tasks efficiently and independently.
- Experiencewith academic writing and publication.
- Organizationand attention to detail.
- Familiarity with statistics and computers,including the Linux operating system and programming/scripting (e.g., in shellscript, Python, R, or Matlab).
- Experience with acquiring and analyzingneuroimaging data.
- Skill in recruitment and testing of clinicalpatients.
- Strong attention to detail, quick learner, able to workindependently, demonstrate initiative, and organizational and interpersonalskills are essential.
- Familiarity with statistics and computers, including theLinux operating system and programming/scripting highly desired.

- Frequentlyperform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation,lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionallystand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork orparts.
- Rarelytwist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, andoperate foot and/or hand controls.
- InterpersonalSkills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues andclients and with external organizations.
