Under the direction of the Head of Educational Program, coordinates the planning, development, and implementation of the Where Everyone Belongs (W.E.B.) program. Collaborates with the Education Department in developing training sessions and guided tours for participating families to engage with the museum. Promotes the involvement of WEB program participants in complementary museum programs such as MOA Mondays, ROAR, and Stroller Tours. May assist with running of complementary programs or lead these programs as needed.
Fosters outreach and audience development by working with local non-profit partners. Supports the program’s outreach efforts with partners in the local community through presentations, tours, collaborative programming, and other efforts as identified. Seeks to understand current local demographic in support of outreach efforts. May travel locally as needed to meet with outside organizations. May provide presentations to the public as requested by interested groups.
Develops and implements strategies to strengthen relationships with W.E.B. members and increase engagement with the museum. Handles communication with families including explaining the program, scheduling and organizing meetings and events, and answering general inquiries. Develops and sends correspondence to families pertaining to the program.
Recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers to support the W.E.B. program. Plans the calendar for and organizes events related to the WEB program. Submits work orders as required. Complies data, creates and analyzes reports with respect to the program and its process/impact. Participates in training activities. Maintains communication with funders and community partners as needed. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
Possession of a valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of art/art education field.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize, and evaluate meetings and/or events.
Knowledge of and ability to apply the processes, procedures, and methods used in museum operations in compliance with applicable governing entities such as the American Alliance of Museums.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Preferred Background/education in Art Education with museum experience and/or within a large organization. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience working with children and families.
