Accountable for directing and managing computer sales and services for Apple and all non-Apple products in the computer/tech department of the Bookstore.

Specific responsibilities include:
•Managing the Apple vendor program and working with the University Information Technology department on purchases to achieve computer department goals including sales, quality of service, customer satisfaction and the procurement of computer and tech products.
•Providing accurate and timely processing of loans under the employee Computer Loan Program.
•Timely, efficient, reliable and responsive repairs and related communications with customers.
•Ensuring appropriate stock levels of computers and peripherals.
•Assessing user sophistication and communicates (oral and written) with customers in an appropriate level of detail.
•Maintaining and advancing working knowledge and technical understanding of the services and products provided and supported.
•Maintaining general awareness of advances and current trends in technology and implementing into sales and services.

Ability to execute multiple promotional/marketing activities in a consistent/coordinated fashion. Ability to understand the demand from various customer segments and execute marketing activities to engage those customers.

Requirements

Professional Experience/ Qualifications

Technical proficiency in both Windows and Mac OS
Advanced working knowledge of Apple products.
Excellent organizational, client contact, reading, writing and communication skills.
Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining the ability to multitask. Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students on a daily basis.
Proven ability of using initiative and identify solutions to problems
Proven ability to assess user sophistication and communicate (oral and written) with customers in an appropriate level of detail.

Preferred QualificationsEducation

Two or more years of experience in a computer retail or repair environment or environment where transferable experience is attained.

Certifications

Apple Certification desired. The successful candidate will be required to take the Apple Certification Exam within the first year of employment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift 30 lbs.
