Onsite Undergraduate Mathematics Adjunct Faculty Instructor - Cincinnati/Dayton Ohio area

Adjunct must live within 60 miles of the Cincinnati/Dayton area

Position Description:

Theadjunct faculty position in undergraduate Mathematics is in the Division ofLiberal Arts (DOLA) in the College of Adult and Professional Studies. Coursesare taught primarily through an online modality with the possibility of some onsitesections. Theideal candidate will have a doctorate with evidence of no less than 18 graduatehours of coursework in Mathematics. Masters level and ABD applicants will beconsidered. Candidates must be committed to a Christ-centered, Christianfaith-based approach to education and be comfortable teaching within theWesleyan theological perspective.


Adjunctfaculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a qualitylearning experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjunct facultyreport to a program director and perform instruction related duties andresponsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policiesand procedures of the college. The adjunct faculty member will employ a rangeof suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions,encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper class relatedrecords, promptly assess student coursework, and apprise students of progress.The adjunct faculty member will be articulate, current within his or herdiscipline, and demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

Required: Amaster’s degree with minimum of 18 graduate, semester hours in in Mathematics.

Preferred: Ph.D.or other doctorate with a minimum of 18 graduate, semester hours in Mathematics.

•Possess a strong Christian commitment with willingness to adhere to the IWU Community Lifestyle statement

•Demonstrated knowledge of content area.

•Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools.

•Demonstrated teaching abilities.

•Demonstrated higher education experience.

•Demonstrated knowledge of adult learners.

•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Products.

•Experience in teaching undergraduate Mathematics courses at the college level.

•Proficiency with adult learner andragogy is preferred.
