Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The Business and Quality Assurance Analyst will lead day-to-day development of requirements (business, functional, non-functional and technical) gathering, process (business, operations and technical) modeling, Report Design, User Story Development, Test Plan Development, Test Execution, and technical liaison using standardized methodologies. Our goal is to meet the needs of our clients; thus, our expectations are to work with clients and ITS to analyze, design, implement and support active initiatives.

Position Summary

The Business and Quality Assurance Analyst works with functional staff, fellow ITS analyst/programmers, and other stakeholders to design, test, and implement ERP solutions in Ellucian Banner and associated application environments. In this process, the incumbent works with clients across business units to understand business requirements, implement applications, and ensure quality solutions are delivered to meet those needs which align with UNCG’s strategic goals. Works within a variety of software development lifecycles and project management approach to achieve goals.

Minimum Qualifications

-Mid to late career with Masters and 2 to 4 yrs experience; Bachelors and 3 to 5 yrs experience; or equivalent education/work experience
-Major in computer science, information technology, business administration, or related disciplines
-Experience in a business analyst and/or quality assurance analyst-equivalent role required.
-Familiarity in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and/or with Google Docs and Box applications.
-Ability to interact with people from all disciplines with all levels of experience
-Experience at working both independently and collaboratively

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and CertificatesPreferred Qualifications

-Experience analyzing and effectively documenting complex business and technical requirements for. ERP preferred.
-ECBA, CCBA, or CBAP like certification strongly desired.
-Experience creating test plans and test cases for complex software projects. ERP Preferred.
-Experience with automated testing tools preferred.
-Experience with SQL (Oracle) preferred.
-Experience supporting Ellucian Banner ERP system preferred.
-Experience working with Git version control system preferred.

Technical Lead and Business Relationship

Essential Tasks

-Acts as leadership with a cross-functional team to understand business requirements and documents technical specifications for Banner ERP and other applications.
-Acts as division-specific business relationship leader between UNCG division and ITS.
-Collect and document clear, concise requirements & business rules.
-Facilitate cross-functional requirements gathering sessions.
-Translate business rules, requirements & process flows into Business Requirements Documentation (e.g. User Stories).
-Diagram current/future state Business/Operations & Technical Processes.
-Create or assist others in writing user documentation, instructions, and procedures.

Quality Assurance and Testing

Essential Tasks

-Documents formal test plan and executes to ensure quality solutions are delivered to specification.
-Documents, Tests, and debugs Banner/other ERP solutions in support of business needs and works with the ERP Release Manager and other ITS staff to maintain production Banner environment.
-Create and publish test artifacts, to include planning, execution, issues, and conclusion.
-Define and execute manual and automated tests and document test results.
-Document test issues and resolve in collaboration with project team.
-Report test status to project stakeholders.

Application Troubleshooting Support

Essential Tasks

-Provides Banner and other ERP application troubleshooting support to functional units as needed.
-Perform research into project-related issues.
-Support projects post-deployment.
-Effectively communicate to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
-Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
-Develop progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
-Proactively identify potential changes in project scope, issues and risks and devise contingency plans.
-Demonstrate flexibility and open-mindedness.
