The Assistant Director, Career Services supports student success through a comprehensive career and professional development program encompassing the following areas: career advising, job search assistance (resume writing, cover letter writing, interviewing skills, identifying job leads, using the internet and social media), networking, internship assistance, employer relations, professional development, and other areas related to career success. These services are provided to TCSPP students and alumni. The Assistant Director collaborates with admissions, academic departments, and alumni affairs to promote the career and professional development of students.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
· Support the Director in implementing strategies and initiatives to build and support career services and provide career opportunities in the public, non-profit, and business sectors to certificate students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni.
· Develop and sustain a continuum of internship and employment opportunities for all students through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including TCSPP academic and training departments, Advancement & Alumni Affairs, faculty, alumni, campus administrators, and the Office of the Dean.
· Work with Community Partnerships, Student Support, Office of Placement & Training, and others to coordinate campus job and volunteer/career fairs and industry-specific events for employers, community partners, and students, including marketing, registration, logistics, and evaluation.
· Identify opportunities to partner with the TCSPP Centers of Excellence to develop and implement programs and workshops, events, webinars and shadow experiences to foster alumni knowledge and engagement.
· Assist in recruiting a robust pool of TCSPP alumni and students with the aim of providing consulting services and internships through local businesses and community centers.
· Represent TCSPP graduates with external audiences through developing and maintaining effective relationships with entities that employ psychology and behavioral and health sciences experts.
· Produce and disseminate information on career programs, internships, and career opportunities to students, alumni, faculty, and staff through appropriate media.
· Utilize employer feedback to update curricula and create programs that respond to the needs of business, industry, and organizations.
· Develop student facing events to promote the department and professional employment.
· Supervise, train, and evaluate the work of student employees and interns.
· Oversee career services technology offerings and upgrade and maintain the Career Services website.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related.
· Minimum of two years of progressive experience in career services or similar.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and a service orientation. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals within a diverse environment.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
