The Department of Emergency Medicine in the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine is seeking a part-time student worker to perform the duties of an Early Intervention Counselor.

The Early Intervention Counselor provides screening, risk reduction counseling, and HIV and HCV testing services to patients in the Emergency Department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center or at UC Health West Chester Hospital. Counselors receive extensive training on risk assessment, motivational interviewing, medical research procedures and ethics, and public health.

This position provides an ideal experience for students interested in pursuing careers in medicine, nursing, sociology, social work, counseling, or health promotion.

Minimum Qualifications:

    At least 16 years of age. Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), with the exception of summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
