The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Research Assistant. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. Essential FunctionAssist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies in immunology under the supervision of a designated administrator; makes independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience. Primary Duties
- Animal Handling (mice), Intravenous, Intraperitoneal, and Subcutaneous Injections, Tissue CollectionFlow cytometry, including multiple color analysis of stained cellsContributes effectively to the collective team effort.Analyzes research results.Organizes data search and analysis procedures.Assists in establishing test controls, criteria and research standards.
- Academic degree in biology or chemistry or related field or equivalent combination education/experience.
- Expertise in flow cytometry, including multi-color analysis of stained cellsExpertise in the use and handling of mice for research studies, including intravenous, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous injections and tail-bleeding and tissue collectionAbility to maintain detailed and easily accessible records of experimentsExpertise in immunochemistry such as ELISA and Western blot techniques Expertise in acute and chronic cell culture techniquesExpertise in protein purificationExpertise in standard molecular biology techniques
This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
