The Department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Microbiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine invites innovative scientists to apply for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The Department of Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Microbiology consists of basic scientists working to understand fundamental molecular mechanisms as they relate to human health. The Department operates within the College of Medicine, which is the primary research engine at the University of Cincinnati. The College of Medicine is currently focusing on recruiting new faculty to enhance discovery science over the next several years and the successful candidate will join this cohort of new scientists. It is anticipated that the candidate will focus on basic science and will synergize with current faculty in areas including but not limited to cellular signaling, molecular genetics, immunology, virology, microbiology, structural biology, protein engineering and similar fields. The Department of Molecular Genetics and the College of Medicine is a supportive environment that provides career and scientific mentoring. The College provides opportunities for internal awards, grant pre-review, writing assistance and social and scientific forums throughout the year. Faculty in the College of Medicine have access to a variety of core facilities with up-to-date instrumentation and technical expertise to support their research program. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have relevant postdoctoral experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and includes a 12-month appointment and a full benefits package.
